• Ultrasound
| First Glimpse offers an amazing opportunity to see and bond
with your baby before birth. By using the latest ultrasound
technology we can let you see your baby in three-dimensional
clarity before he is born. You will be able to see your baby
moving, sucking his thumb, or rubbing his eyes. We use the GE
Voluson 730, which is the gold standard in ultrasound equipment
for this application. Our comfortable, spa-like atmosphere is
upscale and relaxing. Our sessions are viewed on a 37”
flat screen monitor so that everyone in the room has an excellent
view without trying to look at a small computer monitor. At
our facility, your 3D/4D ultrasound will not be rushed, we will
|
 |
take our time to provide the best experience
possible for you and your guests. Although your ultrasound will
be done by a well qualified sonographer with previous OB experience,
this ultrasound session is elective and is NOT intended to replace
any diagnostic ultrasound done by your obstetrician. We will
perform a limited diagnostic ultrasound, but you must be under
the care of an obstetrician and have had an ultrasound to approximate
due date and screen for maternal/fetal health problems. |
• Massage
First Glimpse is a full service prenatal studio. In addition to
3D/4D ultrasound we also provide prenatal massage therapy sessions.
Advantages of prenatal massage therapy include relaxation and stress
reduction, immune system enhancement, increased blood and lymph
circulation, reduction of leg edema, relief of muscle spasms and
myofacial pain, and reduction of strain and dysfunction in weight-bearing
joints. When considering prenatal massage therapy please verify
that your massage therapist is not only certified, but has had an
additional training course in prenatal massage therapy. Many spas
in the area advertise prenatal massage therapy without the therapist
having this critical additional training. Our massage therapist
is not only certified, but has completed the Kate Jordan seminar/certification
"Bodywork for the Childbearing Year". You should discuss
prenatal massage therapy with your obstetrician if you are thought
to be at increased risk for preterm labor, blood clots, or other
maternal health problems. |
